Shabu-Shabu in Bangkok
Most of the local foods in Thailand are good and most of them are spicy so better advice them earlier before the cook it. When my crew mate and I explore the Bangkok city, we arrived in Cinema Complex in downtown. Just a normal shopping mall inside and when we are hungry looking for restaurant, we came across with this Shabu-Shabu eat-all-you-can promo.
I´m not fond of eat all you can since I always eat a little but this time I tried. For 600 baht for every person, you can eat all you want for 1 hour and 20 minutes time allotted. Either you sit on the table with cooking range with two long chairs good for 4-8 people but we tried the bench in front of this conveyor.
This conveyor delivers the foods you want to cook in your casserole then you need to select which base soup you want. There is plain water, milky or spicy (tom yam) and the waiter will bring it to your front. From there, start selecting this small saucer plate with different kind of vegetables, some pork meat, tofu, seafood like squid, crab sticks and clam shells.
You must cook and taste what you can and not just put all everything inside which later you can’t even eat all. The good thing here is no payment for left-over foods, it´s just an ethic to finish all your meals without waste. My crew mates just took every saucer that taste good until it piled up in front of us which the waiter will collect them again. The men in front of the conveyor who served and distributes the food looked mad at us so we just ignored him stop collecting and time to taste our own-cooked Shabu-Shabu style.
I don´t need rice this one since I saw a different kind of sushi near the barbecue area, this is my favorite one so I taste all type of sushi flavors with different kind of fish on top. When we can´t ate anymore, we just relax and talked for the meantime until the food inside our stomach subside and continue after.
Before our time reached 1 hour, we stopped and took the unlimited soda, ice tea or whatever in the counter. Beside that counter, we tried also the different flavors of ice cream until we are full. After payment in the counter, there is free mint candy to neutralize the taste of the food we ate. I want to return back in this restaurant again when we sailed back.
